Why choose terrazzo by Art of Concrete?
We have decades of experience in crafting terrazzo floors that blend lasting beauty with strength. Our skilled artisans specialise in creating modern terrazzo from marble, quartz, and glass chips, set in cement or epoxy resin. We make sure every terrazzo we craft is not only visually striking but also highly durable.
That makes our terrazzo an ideal choice for floors and walls in commercial spaces or luxury residences. We can deliver flawless results that avoid issues like cracking and staining, and stand the test of time. You can trust us to transform your spaces with timeless terrazzo elegance.
An exciting range of terrazzo options
We offer you 4 terrazzo styles to choose from, each with its own series of base colours and aggregates.
1. Durabella
If you’re looking for greener alternatives to traditional cement terrazzo, get Duracryl’s Durabella flooring. Durabella is a seamless terrazzo finish that combines natural stones and glass with a vegetable oil-based biopolymer binder. These materials produce a lower carbon emission (below 5 kg CO2 per square metre) than cement-based floors. It has the same durability as traditional terrazzo and is perfect for both exterior and interior applications. With over 35 colours and decorative elements available, we can craft any floor design or pattern you envision.
2. Durastone
Durastone is another Duracryl ‘climate-positive’ low-carbon emission floor system. It has the same look and durability as an industrial-strength polished concrete floor. Using the Durastone biopolymer formula, we can create for you a bespoke terrazzo-style polished concrete floor just 3mm thick that features natural stone aggregates. It is perfect for areas that experience heavy foot traffic.
3. Pangaea
Pangaea is a seamless terrazzo flooring made with a polymer-enhanced cement compound and select stone aggregates. We can install Pangaea on-site on any substrate and render it in matte, satin or gloss finishes. A Pangaea terrazzo floor is typically 10-12mm thick and can be laid on various substrates, including old concrete, timber and ceramic tile.
4. Nuovo Terrazzo
Nuovo Terrazzo is a terrazzo PCV or Portland cement-based veneer. Its cement overlay system is enhanced with advanced polymers for extra durability. You get the same strength of real concrete without the need for reinforcing or adding epoxies. We can create Nuovo Terrazzo floors as a seamless overlay (10 to 12mm), a series of slabs (each 30 to 40mm), or tiles (12 to 20mm).

We have proudly completed numerous terrazzo flooring installations across Perth, including residential homes, retail spaces, and public buildings. A selection of our recent projects includes:
Northern Star Resources Ltd office lobby
For this project, we collaborated with Creative Logic Interiors and CDI Group to create a custom Pangaea Terrazzo floor for the Northern Star office lobby. It featured Stonefield and Hill Grey marble aggregates in alabaster-white cement.
Site 23 Bay View Terrace, Claremont
We rendered a Nuovo Terrazzo high-durability floor for this retail store using a French Grey base and Grampians colour. This added the illusion of texture to the interior design (by Studio Mcqualter; constructed by Diverse Project Group).

FAQs
How is modern terrazzo different from ancient terrazzo?
As in ancient times, modern terrazzo is made with embedded aggregates such as marble, glass, broken tiles or other recycled building materials. However, today’s terrazzo base can be traditional cement or epoxy resin binders.
Epoxy resin terrazzo produces a smooth, non-porous surface. It is quick to install and offers a broad range of colours. It is flexible, resistant to cracking, and is perfect for indoor applications that deal with a high volume of foot traffic.
On the other hand, traditional cement-based terrazzo is porous and more weather-proof than epoxy terrazzo. It is best used in outdoor locations that experience low to medium foot traffic.
While best known as a type of flooring, terrazzo can be applied to other surfaces, such as tabletops, benches, countertops, and staircase steps.
How do you create terrazzo?
Regardless of the terrazzo type, we can precast or pour it into place. Once the material is set, we grind it (if needed), polish and seal it with a protective coating.
Precast terrazzo means we create the terrazzo in our workshop and custom cut it into blocks or slabs to fit specific surfaces (e.g., floor area, walls, steps, countertops). Then we transport these to your site and install them.
Alternatively, we can pour and craft the terrazzo directly on-site. This method is what we often recommend for epoxy terrazzo floors, to achieve a smooth and seamless look.
Does epoxy terrazzo contain VOCs?
At Art of Concrete, we are proud to be at the forefront of sustainable green flooring technology in Australia. While many epoxy terrazzo surfaces contain VOCs or volatile organic compounds, we prefer to source our epoxy resins from suppliers who use environmentally friendly zero-VOC emission materials. When we make zero-VOC terrazzo for you, your architect can review the credentials of our sources,
How thick are your terrazzo floors?
Average epoxy terrazzo floors are usually 6 to 7 millimetres thick. Cement-based terrazzo, on the other hand, must have a setting bed and require a minimum thickness of 60 millimetres or more.
At Art of Concrete, we often recommend using Pangaea. This is a terrazzo flooring system with a cement-based polymer binding compound that combines the best characteristics found in cement and epoxy. This typically reaches a thickness of 10 to 12 millimetres.
How long will terrazzo last?
With proper maintenance, poured-in epoxy terrazzo can maintain its beauty and strength for decades. High-quality cement terrazzo can even last anywhere from 40 to 100 years.
